Sunday was another beautiful day, so my son and I decided to go to the MD State Fair. Our first stop was to check out the livestock.
We saw pigs!
And ponies!
And some of the biggest horse I’ve ever seen…
Of course we had to ride some rides.
Justin Bieber was performing that night so the Fairgrounds were crawling with tweens suffering from “Bieber Fever”. Some of the cases were quite acute…
Okay, more rides!
My kid’s in there. Upside down. Screaming his head off. When he got off, a stranger noted that he didn’t look so hot. He really didn’t.
What better way to settle an upset stomach than to grab a little Fair food on the way out – Fried Twinkie, anyone?

I’ve never had a deep-friend twinkie (or oreo, or anything like that), but I really want to try one!

I allow myself to have one deep-fried item each year. Last year it was the Oreos. This year, I opted for the Twinkie. Both taste good (I think I liked the Twinkie a little bit more), but they both also make you feel slightly ill.

Slightly ill? I had the deep fried frozen Snickers one year and very nearly barfed about 5 bites into it.
Oh and the best part about the fair: how CLEAN all the animals are. They look new!
